Expert Opinion
The Samsung Galaxy A06 is an entry-level budget phone with appealing features for casual users. It delivers acceptable performance (with an AnTuTu score of 244,538) for basic apps and everyday tasks. The most genuinely impressive aspect is its excellent battery life, which is highly competitive in its price range. In real-world testing, it achieved up to 16 hours of endurance (in mixed use), and reached up to 21 hours at best (in PCMark for Android Work 3.0 Battery Life Test).
In terms of performance, the phone still keeps the MediaTek Helio G85, offering no upgrade over its predecessor, the Galaxy A05. It still remains a basic phone that easily handles messaging, social media, and the occasional YouTube video but isn’t suited for anything more demanding. The 60Hz screen feels somewhat outdated, especially when competitors like the Redmi 14C came with a 120Hz display. The camera is also average, fine in good lighting scenarios, but no more than average in low light, and the missing ultrawide lens also limits shooting options.
Overall, the Galaxy A06 offers good value considering Samsung’s reliability, impressive battery life, and decent everyday performance, but but far away from a flagship and does not have much appeal for gamers or serious photographers.
Is the Phone Still Worth Buying in 2025?
In 2025, the Samsung Galaxy A06 continues to be a fair choice for an entry-level phone, good enough for casual use. It runs social media, web browsing, and apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram reasonably well. Its standout feature is the large battery, which can easily power you through the whole day. For those who just need basic functions, a few simple apps, and occasional light gaming, the A06 is still worth considering. However, it’s no match for the newer budget phones available today. We’d only recommend it if you’re looking to spend the bare minimum and don’t expect too much. Otherwise, adding a bit more to your budget for a Galaxy A16 or Redmi Note 12 will get you much better performance, with advanced features, and future-ready specs.
