Expert Opinion

The Samsung Galaxy A05 is a perfect choice for anyone who wants a big screen and long battery life but doesn’t care much about camera, gaming, or advanced features. Its 6.7 inches big screen is its main selling point, which is bigger than most of the phones in the same price range. While the 720p resolution isn’t as sharp as FHD+ screens these days, it’s decent enough for casual media consumption.

The battery life is really good here. You’ll easily get 10-12 hours of use (based on PCMark for Android Work 3.0 Battery Life test), beating some rivals and making it great for all-day use without worrying about a charger. Performance is just okay, where it got 243,469 on AnTuTu and is fine for basic things yet not great for gaming.

The main camera performs well in daylight but struggles in darker scenarios, and there’s no stabilization, so it’s just a simple camera for casual users. It also doesn’t have an ultra-wide lens, no NFC (which even the Redmi 13C has), and no fingerprint sensor, so it’s missing some key stuff leaving it behind in the competition. Overall, If you need a simple phone for calls, texts, videos, and long battery life, the Galaxy A05 will work well. But for gaming or photography, it’s better to find another phone.

Is the Phone Still Worth Buying in 2025?

In 2025, the Samsung Galaxy A05 sits at the very bottom of the budget smartphone tier. It has a few things that still work, like a big screen, strong battery life with 25W fast charging, and Samsung’s reliable software. But these wins are hard to appreciate in modern times when you consider its outdated chipset, an outdated 60Hz display, and lack of 5G. For basic use like making calls, texting, browsing the web, or using social media, the A05 can technically get the job done very well, especially considering its low price. The camera can also take decent shots in good lighting, good enough for casual use. But considering other aspects, specifically performance, this phone feels pretty outdated, far behind in the current market. So for the majority of users in 2025, the Samsung Galaxy A05 is not worth much, especially when its successor Galaxy A06 is also available at an affordable price.
